The live-action superhero franchise, Power Rangers, is coming with a new movie set for release in March 2017. The movie revolves around five young boys and girls who accidentally find the power to turn themselves into Power Rangers. This movie – a reboot – is the third in the Power Rangers franchise.  It will narrate the story from scratch and may have a sequel or two.

The movie stars Dacre Montgomery (Jason/Red Ranger), Maomi Scott (Kimberly/Pink Ranger), RJ Cyler (Billi/Bue Ranger), Becky G (Trini/Yellow Ranger) and Ludi Lin (Zack/Black Ranger). BIll Hader renders the voie of Alpha 5 while Bryan Cranston plays the role of Zordon and Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa.  The trailer of Power Rangers promises what the fans of this franchise want, youth transforming into Power Rangers to fight evil and using their powers to call a giant robot to save the Earth. I hope the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers bring to the big screen action that was last seen in a movie in 1997.

Autobot’s history may be revealed in “Transformers: The Last Knight”

The Transformers franchise created uproar across the world because of the Autobots and the Decepticons fighting a war on Planet Earth. The lifelike giant robots have been graphically rendered to perfection.

Following the first three editions of Transformers with Shia LaBeouf as the lead character namely: Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011), the franchise got a reboot with Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) in which Mark Wahlberg appeared in the lead role replacing Shia LaBeouf.

This year, Transformers: The Last Knight is scheduled for release by June 2017. Reprising his role of Cade Yeager will be Mark Wahlberg along with his Transformer friends. However, as the trailer of his movie airing during the Super Bowl suggests, there is must drama, suspense and tragedy in this particular edition of the Transformers franchise. One will wonder what happened to Optimus Prime? Did he die? How did he come back to life? And why was he fighting against his colleague, Bumblebee. There are must questions to be answered in Transformers: the Last Knight.

However, one thing is for sure! As far as the trailer is concerned, the fans of Michael Bay and the Transformers franchise will witness the truth behind the history of the Transformers. They will also see heroes becoming villains and perhaps, the hunters turning over a new leaf and become the good guys. I am sure you will be anxiously waiting to see the Autobots and the Decepticons battle each other with the humans assisting the Autobots. Also appearing in this sequel are Sir Anthony Hopkins and Laura Haddock.

Marvel Entertainment has been producing X-men movies for a long time. In March 2017 it will be releasing its tenth installment of the X-Men film series, which began with the first movie, X-Men (2000). The last movie, the 9th in the series was X-Men: Apocalypse (2016). However, the tenth and latest installment of this movie series, Logan, will look at the life of Wolverine/James “Logan” Howlett / Wolverine: (Hugh Jackman).

Directed by James Mangold, this movie may be the last outing of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Set in 2029, the movie follows the events occurring after the time from X-Men: Days of Future Past. Logan is facing a dire predicament of losing his mutant ability of healing and is visibly depicted by his aging body. He is also taking care of Professor Xavier who has also aged much. However, apart from Logan and Xavier, the movie’s center of attention character, as depicted by the trailer, will be Laura, a young girl having mutant ability including claws akin to that of Logan. Perhaps the ending of this movie will show the passing of the torch from Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) to another character. However, if Laura is given the task of carrying the torch forward and play a female wolverine in upcoming installments of Wolverine, then that may work as never there has been a female mutant having powers akin to the Wolverine. However, the director/producer/Marvel Entertainment must decide who will fill the vacuum in the X-Men franchise once Hugh Jackman retires from playing Wolverine.
